Wasaga Beach is one of fasted growing communities in Ontario and all of Canada. Recent years have seen staggering growth and great improvements in the urban infrastructure. A strong real estate resale market as well as attractive new subdivisions with homes of all shapes and sizes have attracted a large number of new citizens to Wasaga Beach.

With a Canadian Superstore at the West end and a Walmart Super Centre at the East end of Wasaga Beach, there is truly no need to shop anywhere else than right here in town. Giant Tiger and Foodland also operate a store within the municipality. The culinary scene in Wasaga Beach also expands at a high rate with new restaurants opening their doors all over the place.

A renovated and hugely expanded RecPlex Community Centre hosts great YMCA fitness facilities including an indoor swimming pool. A great trail system all along the shores of Georgian Bay connects the different beaches operated by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. Whether you love to bike, hike, run, snow shoe or cross country ski: There is plenty of nature for you to explore and enjoy. Of course Wasaga Beach is also known as a premier summer destination for visitors from all over the World. The "Main Drag" at Beach 1, is in better shape than ever. Hit by a fire in the fall of 2007 that took out a number of businesses in the pedestrian mall near Beach 1, Wasaga Beach bounced back with new attractions such as WasagaDome, a multi purpose facililty one of its kind, featuring circus performances, concerts, comedy shows and movies. The two famous beach bars, the Dardanella and the Bananas have not been touched by the fire and are going as strong as they always did. For those who love the Winter: Wasaga Beach is only a short drive away from the Village at Blue, Ontario's largest winter sport resort and a prime location for mountain bikers and hikers. Fishing and boating are great past times all over the Georgian Bay area.
